Steve Linder
Steve’s forte is to help provide what most of our clients need most: money (and he’s raised a whoooole lot of it - more than $400 million for associations, issues, causes, and candidates).
Steve directs our fundraising practice, specializing in raising funds for caucus committees, ballot initiatives, issue organizations, corporate and trade association PACs, political parties and statewide candidates. Steve also has decades of experience building and managing issue coalitions and has helped numerous clients achieve their public policy objectives.
Prior to joining Sterling, Steve was President and owner of Linder & Associates, Michigan’s first multi-client political fundraising firm. Steve has been a professional fund-raiser since 1978, getting his start with Michigan Governor William Milliken's reelection campaign, and has directed fundraising campaigns in numerous states for scores of candidates, caucus committees, ballot issue committees, and PACs.
Steve spends most waking hours cajoling people to write check or commit time and other resources to various causes, but still squeezes in time to bicycle over 3,000 miles per year and he is a devoted Michigan State Spartan basketball junkie.
